I was born in San Francisco, Calif. in 1947 to Bud and Ginny Ostrander. My late mother was an artist and I came along between paintings. I graduated from David Douglas HS in Portland, Or. in 1966. After HS I served in the US Army (1966-69) After being Honorably discharged I attended Texas State Univ at San Marcos and graduated in 1973 with a BS in Ed. About 4 years ago I retired from government service, moved from Portland to La Center about 3 years ago. I've been in the Portland/Vancouver area more years than I care to think back on. I am a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Chamber of Commerce. Prior to that I served in the Civil Air Patrol (Pilot). However, I have not been as active as I would like to be because I believe serving on the city council position will become more demanding as time and growth goes on. And I accept that demand. Finally, I can appreciate the good works other groups do like the Lyons.
